FAA Approval

Most Fidelity flight training applications require the MOTUS simulation device to be FAA approved. Fidelity has the capability and experience to assist the customer, or Sponsor, in achieving FAA approval at the appropriate level.

The MOTUS flight simulation device is FAA approvable based on three core competencies…

1. Flight Data Gathering Capability: Fidelity has developed its
own technology and methodology to gather the necessary aerodynamic characteristics from flight testing and other means to document the requisite aerodynamic standard accurately.
 
2. Fidelity's aerodynamic modeling capability: Once the flight standard is established, proprietary aerodynamic modeling capability allows Fidelity to create an exact flight model for that fixed wing aircraft or rotorcraft. Even after delivery, Fidelity or the customer can easily modify the flight model to achieve the necessary performance for FAA certification.
 
3. Type-Specific Systems Development: FAA Approval frequently calls for certain systems to operate accurately, just as they do in the aircraft. Fidelity determines in the design stage what those systems are, and has the capability to provide type-specific systems replication to meet that requirement.

Fidelity Flight Simulation participated on the FAA Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC) to provide advice, guidance, and recommendations regarding proposed changes to FSTD Qualification Performance Standards (QPS) to the currently proposed rule that will govern the evaluation and qualification of Flight Simulation Training Devices (FSTD), Part 60.
